The “Danube Art Master 2026” project has been launched

Danube Art Master 2026 inspires young people to explore and protect the Danube through creativity

Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe is pleased to announce the launch of Danube Art Master 2026, an international competition that encourages children and young people across the Danube River Basin to connect with rivers, nature and environmental protection through creative expression.

The initiative invites participants aged 6–18 to explore their local rivers and share their discoveries through artwork, photography or short videos. From sculptures made of natural materials to inspiring visual stories, young people have the opportunity to showcase their creativity while raising awareness about the importance of protecting the Danube and its ecosystems.

Danube Art Master has been inspiring environmental awareness and youth engagement across the region for many years, bringing together schools, families, organisations and local communities around a shared appreciation for rivers and biodiversity.

Participants can compete at both national and international levels, gaining recognition for their work while becoming part of a wider movement promoting sustainability and care for the environment.

We encourage schools, educators, parents and youth organisations throughout the Danube region to join this year’s edition and support young creatives in expressing their connection to nature.

More information about participation is available through the national organisers.
