Young participants from the European Youth Parliament for Water (EYPW), supported by GWP Hungary in cooperation with ISW-SWE and the Middle Tisza District Water Directorate, joined the VII Tisza Lake PET Cup on Lake Tisza. The event gathered over 360 volunteers who worked together to remove waste from the lake and surrounding floodplains, raising awareness about plastic pollution and freshwater ecosystem protection. Over four days, participants collected 10.7 tonnes of waste, including large debris items, demonstrating the scale of the challenge and the impact of collective action.
GWP Hungary supported the engagement of young water professionals in the PET Cup, strengthening youth participation in practical water stewardship. Through this involvement, GWP contributes to building skills, environmental leadership, and cross-sector cooperation for sustainable water management in the Danube Basin.
