The European Centre for River Restoration (ECRR) is a European network dedicated to advancing ecological river restoration and sustainable river management across Europe. Operating as a neutral knowledge network, ECRR connects policy makers, practitioners, researchers, and civil society to support evidence-based restoration practice and policy development.Â
GWP CEE’s long-term engagement with ECRR strengthens the impact of both organizations to deliver towards enhancing river and floodplain restoration in line with key European frameworks, including the EU Water Framework Directive, Biodiversity Strategy, and Nature Restoration Law. Our contributions focuses on integrating basin-scale perspectives, nature-based solutions, and stakeholder engagement into restoration processes. Cooperation with ECRR supports the exchange of best practices, policy-relevant knowledge, and regional experience, enhancing collective capacity to deliver effective and resilient river restoration outcomes across Europe.
