Future Lakes – Engagement in advisory boards 

FutureLakes is a European research and innovation project addressing the degradation of lakes through integrated, systemic, and nature-based restoration approaches. GWP CEE engagement in FutureLakes Advisory Board provides strategic input to ensure that scientific innovation is aligned with governance needs and policy relevance, while engaging stakeholders. 

Through this advisory role, our expertise in integrated water management, stakeholder engagement, and nature-based solutions, we have an opportunity to contribute to shaping project priorities, methodologies, and pathways for impact. This engagement supports the integration of lake restoration within wider basin management frameworks and promotes coherence between research outcomes and decision-making processes. Our active involvement also facilitates knowledge exchange across regions and sectors, supporting the transferability and scaling of effective restoration approaches to improve the long-term resilience and ecological status of European lakes.
