Global Water Partnership Central and Eastern Europe (GWP CEE) as an Observer, supports efforts of International Sava River Basin Commission (ISRBC) on transboundary water governance, integrated river basin management, and sustainable development in the Sava River Basin. Through this cooperation we support implementation of integrated river management planning in line with European water and environmental policy frameworks.
GWP CEE contributes with experience in integrated water resources management, stakeholder engagement, policy dialogue, climate adaptation, and nature-based solutions, complementing ISRBC’s role as an intergovernmental coordination body. With active Observer engagement the link between strategic planning and implementation, with particular emphasis on multi-stakeholder participation, public involvement, and cross-sectoral integration, is strengthened. This collaboration supports the integration of ecosystem-based approaches like nature-based solutions into river basin management which enhances resilience to floods, droughts, and climate change across the Sava River Basin.
